My action portfolio is designed so that it can be easy to read. All of my entries are dated in order by the dates of each class. Underneath the dates, I have included a link to the prep for each week. Once you click on the link, it will take you to separate page. On that page I have included all of my work for that week onto one word document. On each word document I have included my name, date, and title. My portfolio has been organized in chronological order and should be able to be easily accessed. 2.)Strongest Work I think that my strongest work would be from class 4 prep sheet. I selected that one because I actually liked the name inquiry. I had fun researching my name, and talking with my dad about my name. Doing the activity gave me the opportunity to stop and just reflect on my mom and how much I am so appreciative of her for giving me my name. I also thought the reading assigned for this week was doable and was not a bad read. I also think that my revised question was better after reading the Postman and Weingartners article and what a good question consists of. Even though the Schooling Life Map was not on the class 4 prep sheet, I thought that was another strong entry from me. I had a great time creating my life map and taking the time to draw and be creative. I was able to reflect on my middle school experience and include the good, bad, and the ugly things that happened. 3.) Most Challenging I would say the most challenging assignment was the Killgallons Sentencing Composing activity. For this assignment, I was assigned the sentencing unscrambling strategy. I thought that the assignment was rather challenging for me, because prior to this assignment I’ve never had to unscrambled sentences. Before starting the assignment I read through the directions on the prep sheet and in the book. After reading the directions and the examples listed in the book, I started the assignment. Within completing two of the sentences I was frustrated with the assignment. However, I mustered through it and completed all of activity 2 and 5. For each activity I had to unscramble the sentences and then rearrange them in the order to which I thought they belonged in the sentence. You would think that this assignment would have been fairly easy, but it wasn’t. I think I struggled with it because I have not practiced grammar since middle school. I think that I would have probably enjoyed this activity better if I had been introduced to it in a scaffold. I like learning part by part, with each time expanding my knowledge by making it more difficult. I would consider using this strategy, but definitely not like we had to do for this class. I plan on introducing the sentencing composing concept in parts and then allow the students to practice the sentences in class with my help. I think that if introduced that way I wouldn’t have been so frustrated with the activity. I think that also the book’s directions were vague.
